Wow... The young fella is going to be buzzing about this. He has had an amazing couple of weeks. Thanks to all those people who donated prizes. The hunting reports section is the engine room of the forum I reckon and the more we can encourage reports the better. Some great stories were entered and I thought Leos first stag write up was awesome.
Thanks again to HC for organising, HC, nik, TJ, X-poacher, 7m08 for sponsoring.... Bloody legends. Flynns going to think its xmas. The loopy will be going on his .243 to replace the Bushnell which is a very average scope.
My Poppa left me a couple of guns when he died... one of them "the Browning" has a fearsome reputation and I always was fascinated with it when I was growing up. He also left me his -ex-army .303 which he was issued with when he was in the homeguard. He was a farmer on a big lot of land so I am pretty sure the story is he tried to enlist for WW2 but they wouldn't let him go due to the big land holding? Anyway ... I think I might send one of those two off to TJ to get a bit of TLC mainly for sentimental reason. My Poppa was a lengend.
Thanks again. I think I will video Flynns reply and stuck it on here.

I'll pm Mike for his address details to get his sub entered into our database and fuel vouchers posted out!
….The hunter ordinarily has no gallery to applaude or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his act, they are dictated by his own conscience, rather than by a mob of onlookers….
Surprised at the lack of interest this year, but there still seemed to be quite a few guys out getting into the roar hunting?
From a few conversations, some of the regular hunters/contributors (myself included) felt the comp was ideal for those younger and less experienced members.
You really only needed to read some of the hunt reports from this years various rut periods to see that many members experienced some awesome times and some wonderful results.

Yeah I felt a bit the same way, but more entries would improve quality and numbers of members interested in participating or voting would it not? There's nothing stopping someone posting a report in both though

I chucked my report up in both, that way the majority of people get to have a gander at it in the reports section to see the interesting bits and pieces and to bump up numbers in the comp. Its pretty gloomy having just one or two entries in it, the more the better I reckon.

Could this mean that there are hundreds if not thousands of joe public reading these threads, ie the hunt reports section etc and maybe not that many actual forum members doing so?
I have no idea, but it seems strange to see hundreds if not thousands of views on some reports and only a very limited number of comments.
