any advice on roasting a whole rear quarter on the bbq got a family bbq sat and need to feed them thought i could roast the whole rear leg

I usually pre roast in an oven bag with herbs and spices and some redwine . nice and slow for about 30min per kilo. You can actually do this the day before. Take out of bag, drain and pat dry. rub with salt pepper and olive oil and brown and finish on Bar B Q.
save the liquid from bag, boil, reduce and use for the gravey

Sprinkle Maggi onion soup mix over it, bung it in big enough oven bag, and roast slowly, at least 35mins per pound at about 160*, the slower the better, it'll be "Blardy Bewtee"!!! Smiley

Never done a whole hind quarter but often do a couple of muscle groups Smiley.
