Cheers for the pics madness. I saw keen1s head when I arrived, cracker of a stag that one! There was also another head there that scored in the 190s from memory, which really stood out as a hybrid to me. It had really thick timber and a bloke beside me pointed out a few features of the skull which suggested hybridisation. The hybrids are an awesome trophy in their own right but maybe they need their own category (I thought they did in most hunting comps??)

The other one had the end of its nose broken off.. Was this the other hybrid looking one? Its skull was bigger than the rest and had some different looking antlers. More points than usual if I remember rightly.
Still, they were all pretty awesome heads  Smiley

Can't remember if it had part of its nose broken off but it was an 8 pointer, very thick antlers, and like you say a pretty bulky skull. The skull also hadn't been cleaned up as well as some of the others, still had a bit hair n stuff stuck to it  Grin Grin. Nice head though....

Hey congrats on winning the average DS part of the comp, i really like the shape of that head you got, it's got that classic look about it with the nice nice wide tops Smiley

Hey thanks 7.62. I would have to say I really like the shape of it too even though its a bit overspread and that.  Smiley

I guess with all the heads they have coming in to score and push out; scoring and judging might not be at its best.

I dropped my whitetail antlers off to the taxidermist last year. Better go again this year to drop the cape off. Another year after that and ill probably have a mounted whitetail...
