Custom Knife

Hi everyone.

Recently sadly recently my nanna past away and left all us grandchildren a few bucks each.
Instead of buying a new pair of prada sunnies etc  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes I want to get a custom hunting/fishing knife made that I will be able to pass on to my kids. I have seen Hamish's (HGD) leather work and will get him to make the sheath etc.

I like to support forum members where I can and know there are talented knife makers on here but my forum search gave me nothing.

Cheers in advance
Trip Smiley

Thanks johnd I'm really going for something beautiful custom and built to last and also realize that will come with at a price.

I love the look of Hamish's new knife from Ripi John Cool

Hi trip.  Good choice using Hamish of HGD to make your custom sheath.

I got him to put one together for me a short while ago.  Spec wise, I asked him to make a sheath that totally enclosed the knife inside, had the sharpening steel in its own slot on the front, and with a flap that came over the top and secured everything inside, so nothing could fall out and be lost.

He did an excellent job and I'm very happy with it.  I got exactly what I asked for and expected.  Reasonable price and it was delivered on time too!

You can see the sheath below.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. You are welcome to send me a pm, I will be able to make you the knife you are looking for. I also do the sheaths for every knife I make, but Hamish does good leather work from what I have seen on the forum, so you can make choice who dresses it in leather. For a bit more information, take a look at my website: www.nzhandmadeknives.co.nz

Cheers,
Ludwig

Looks really good Neil I like the design and will be wanting something similar to keep the knife safe.

Have gone with ludwig who was great to deal with. With his advice I have picked the "Hunter 4" with a Pohutukawa handle and a titanium bolster. Cant wait to see it finished the wrapped in HGD leather work. Smiley
