I just bought an ATACR. I'm honestly far more impressed than I expected to be.

Jason at DED was really good to deal with also. Smiley

Yes. I had one. Liked it a lot, including that reticle.

Still a gigantic scope though!!

Don't still have it? Want to look at one in the flesh.

I will be swinging by DED in the next week or so so will stop in and take a look.

I have settled on looking through the scope prior to purchasing...

Nah, got rid of it a while ago now. The importers are NZ Asia so your local hunting shop could/should get one in for you.

Looking through a scope in a shop isn't going to tell you anything useful. Needs to be mounted and looked through outside, ideally in low light conditions to show you anything regarding glass quality

Stuff you will be able to see are how the turrets feel, mag ring and illumination on/off switch if it has one. Maybe the ret at a stretch..

Went with a rifle I sold.

It's probably a good thing that killwell are now the agents cause NZ Asia are tragically hopeless!

Well,

Quick update. Kilwell are sending a Kahles K624i to view at the local and Marstons are sending a Vortex Razor HD 5-20. Can't wait, will post some photos when they arrive  Grin

Very nice  Smiley

If you have to have FFP, then either will be fine, the Vortex has more internal elevation, but less magnification than the Kahles.

If you don't have to have FFP, I would strongly suggest looking at the ATACR, was looking through another one in the weekend, stunning especially considering the price & features Cool

Shot my son's F-TR rifle on Sat with an 8-32 NXS on it. Immediately afterwards, shot my 6x47L with the ATAC-R.
It just reminded me how much the glass has improved

Grr some people are fortunate, all I can afford on my target rifle is a 4x20 Nikko Stirling  Sad

Grin Grin Grin you should have taken more interest in money instead of working for a living

It is much better to Hit the Animal in the right place, with a Rifle you can shoot well, then to hit it poorly with a Large Calibre..John Nosler

Anyone got experience with the Kahles K624i with MSR reticle?

Yes, hard to beat. Superb glass, rugged, absolute precise turrets and very fine reticle, just 4mm/100m. Even a little bit better than my S&B!

UPDATE

Hey guys, I went with the Vortex Razor HD 5-20 Gen 1. Couldn't beat teh features and extras that came with it. Also price was a factor.

Gen 2's are a way off and I can't get a confirmed ETA for when they will be in NZ. I will likely move it on for one when they arrive.

Had a long and hard look at the Kahles 624i and loved the turrets. Leupold Mk6 was awesome too but I wasn't a fan of the turret.

Anyway thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

Frazer.

Got a good bargin on the scope, but won't go into specifics.

It's EBR-1 MOA which suits me fine, preffered MIL/MIL but I know MOA and it works.
