Another member came up with a fantastic idea to start a directory of known Heli/Plane transport services that fly in for hunting and fishing trips, let's see what we can get running.

I think a template will be best:

Name of operator:
Covered area/s:
Public/Private/Both?:
Contact Info:

I have flown 4 times with Helisika, always fly with them for Kaimanawa private blocks. Good value for the quality they run their business as. Pilots have all been great and have done the usual block rounds to show the area off well.

I've flown with both Jason (JD) & Jarod, both very professional with excellent ground crew as well.
They weigh you & your gear before flying, which speaks volumes as to how safety conscious they are.
They're also hunters and very knowledgeable about the areas they're flying you into.

Also first call for SARS & Fire service in the area, as well as DOC, tourist flights & crop work.
All round good buggers! Will definitely use them again next year.  Smiley

Just a question - Are there any fixed wing operators flying into the Boyd these days or is it all rotary. ACT are no longer operating, Tongariro Air is defunct - what's left. Fixed wing was a cheaper option by a long shot.
