Manson to Makahu Winter 2013.

We flew into Manson Hut and walked out to Makahu Saddle via Rocks Ahead and Rocks Ahead.
I really enjoyed bush stalking in the snow as it made hearing and seeing deer much easier and a new challenge. Saw two stags and three hinds all in the bush in the snow not far from the tops.

Old manson

Ice on a steel standard.

Balls deep snow on Manson Tops

Saw plenty of these

I loved stalking this snowy bush. Made for some fantastic stalking.

This little bugger kept me company while I ate my lunch

It is much better to Hit the Animal in the right place, with a Rifle you can shoot well, then to hit it poorly with a Large Calibre..John Nosler

Cheers guys. Could have shot some but it's a long way to carry it. Love being out there no matter what the weather. Can't beat it. Nothing like a week bush to get me reved up for spring calving!

Great. You will never forget these sorts of trips.
