1989 Fyran 12
1986 Yamaha 15D (has never missed a beat) 11" prop
cruising range at 14kts 1person 168km /25l
max speed 1 59kg person sitting on back seat 21.2kts

running heavy camp loads + deer in rough weather has had the effect that the transom has cracked, so i got it TIG'd up another trip to Waikaremoana later and i had cracked the welds!

i was going to reinforce it and put a 25 on but then this came up for the same price and silly me i bought it.
Origionally it had a Mercury on it as the dealer had two boats one had the better hull and the merc the other had a lesser hull with the yamaha so a deal was worked out to swap them just bolt the yamaha on and i'll sort the control lines etc.

replace 142 leaking rivets with SS bolts and seal with epoxy
Weld up a further 7 that decided to leak later
weld up some cracks on the seat frames
Diamond plate step board on transom
Diamond plate panel welded to front deck so you can walk on it
Plywood floor replaced with 4mm diamond plate sheet (no it wasn't lighter)
Electrical:
rip out all wireing and switches install 40A main wires to switch board then 10A to the electronics
also installed a duel ciggi socket / USB port to run the GPS and charge phone etc
wired the bilge pump and installed a master switch to kill all power to the boat
lighting :
LED Nav lights with black tape on the windows so the buggers dont shine up the entire front of the boat and i can see whats in front of me.
LED lightstrip to underside of the rear canopy frame.
LED strip under front deck and in glovebox
GPS mount for Garmin 60csx
Engine
disabled and removed the "Precision blend" system from the engine running it on 50:1 premix as per manual. the drawback is it smokes a lot until you get it up to 3000 + rpm
My reason for doing this is because in the basement is a Yamaha 90 which siezed the No.2 piston in 2001 i dont know how/why but it stands to reason that a seperate oil system is prone to water /dirt getting in to the reservoir and if that then blocked oil to one of the carbs then BANG Fooked engine.
SE Sport 300 hydrofoil (only on when going to waikaremoana or when i have a heavy load on as it slows the boat down it does let it plan from 8kts where as with out it it's 11-12kts)
Crusing range @ 19.6kts (15" prop 1 person no foil) 106km/25l
