Old Buy and Sell Section

This post is not intended to be negative...

It is coming up 4 months since the old "buy and sell section" was closed off, to encourage users to make the switch the new "FishnHunt 4sale" site.  I made the switch  in the hope that it would take off, but lets face it, with only 4 auctions, 8 wanted ads and only around 4 guys on-line looking at it, it really seems that it has not taken off at all.  Many of us have just resorted to Trade Me, which is a shame as generally guys would be offering up their unwanted gear at lower prices here on the forum before resorting to Trade Me.

I am keen to see the old "Buy and Sell section" unlocked and carried on as before (maybe with different rules added to its use eg no linking to trade me ect)

Just mine and a few other members thought that's all.

Not negative, just factual. Alan it's your ship, but the new buy-sell-swap  does not seem to be a "goer" to me either.  Embarrassed

Yep I agree.

I gave it a fair go but it just not happening,.

I'm not going to waste any more time with it.

Now is a good time to put it out of it's misery.

The bring buy sell forum worked well for me and plenty of others here.

Maybe its time to run a poll and see what the members really think.

Personally I think its time to accept that the new format is dead in the water , and move on to something useable again.

I agree 100% with above comments.

The new selling site was worth a try, but simply doesn't work. I put one item on there and it attracted zero attention - would not do another.

On the other hand the old buy sell system was very hunter friendly. All sorts of stuff was put up, often with good offers for site members before it went on trademe. Its a service I miss on the site now.

Let's bring it back Alan, and at the same time look at alternative ideas as to how this site can pay for itself - as it must. Could we have a thread here to offer/discuss new ideas?

Maybe the buy sell section should revert back to the free method but only available to those who have donated to the forum.

My suggestion still stands that the Buy Sell section could be moved to the Donor section.
Make a small donation to use it. Obviously not going to net the same return as if the new buy sell site had taken off - but better than nothing

The old buy and sell section was one of my most visited parts of this forum.
Since the new site launch, due to their being very few listings, products available and member support, I have only ever glanced back at it since.  Even now it doesn't appear to have increased in popularity.
I would love to see the old section used again and would be more than happy to have to pay some sort of donation to have that privilege again.
Just my 2.5 cents anyway.

I think the BUY/SELL/SWAP section was under utilised by the forum sponsors. Instead of relying on us to click through to their site, if they had a daily/weekly/till all sold specials etc that would be a cool thing.

bring back the old thread. If we're paying TM fee's we can at least afford $10 membership and sell on here.
I bought stuff from here because I wasn't going to get a duck and sold stuff because it was a fair price.
