Advice on one man tents please. Anyone come across Nemo tents?

Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a one man tent shortly, mainly to use on the West Coast and across the Canterbury high country.

I'm prepared to spend a bit to get a really good product and was wondering if anyone can help me out please? I'm looking for something light, durable, easy to put up and condensation proof (which often seems to be the downfall after reading reviews).

I've heard of the brand Nemo

http://www.nemoequipment.com/airsupported-technology

which have brought out a pole-less structure by using airbeams, much like a bike tube. I love the idea of this but just want to know if it does the trick. Has anyone got one or heard of any pros and cons for Nemo tents?

This tent seems to be good

http://www.nemoequipment.com/nemo2010-gogole-tent

but I'm a little worried about the condensation it may create and also the durability.

Are there any other brands I should consider?

Are there any downfalls in a one man tent I should consider? Is a two man a better option?

Any advice/info will be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Cheers.

If you are looking for light at 1.2kg packed, easy to use, and which you will not get condensation in look at the MSR carbon reflex tents, here is a link PM me if interested http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=344156249.

F that's cheap.

Are they very good in wind? Do the free stand?

Slightly cheaper if you PM me  Wink
I haven't had mine out in two much wind to comment, if its looking like it might be a windy night I prefer to find some good shelter or head to the bush, I am sure they would be fine in most conditions they are very well made and super light.

I'd buy one if I didn't just get a marmot limelight.

The Msr is a much better tent in almost every way but I rate the pole design better for the wind I always seem to encounter.

My next tent will be a 3 person 4 season. But that will be around roar time.

Cheers for that coxy, just looked up the specs of the MSR. Doesn't look too shabby. I had a hubba hubba a few years back and it was brilliant so i wouldn't resitate in buying a MSR again. Liking the sound of the Nemo tho, just not that confident in them yet.

Whats the difference between the msr hubba hubba series to the carbon reflex models?
I got a price of $1100 for a Hubba hubba hp today! Shocked
It would want to be good.

The carbon reflex is a newer lighter version of the hubba hubba, both have the mesh inner instead of the solid inner like the HP, the HP gets way to hot inside if you plan to use it for all year round hunting.
PM me if you are looking for a carbon reflex.
