Huntech 1 Man Bivvys

Do the Huntech 1 man bivvys still exist? I would like one.

Our group are wanting to hunt the tops where there is no where to string a fly, or no foot print large enough and flat enough for 3 guys to sleep side by side. Plus with the fly set up we dont have the choice to head off in different directions for an overnighter alone.

I would prefer a huntech bivvy over a bivvy bag.

Does any one know if there are any for sale in a shop somewhere?

Cheers

Remember that you need a pole for them if you are on the tops and can't string the front onto a tree. I use a telescopic tramping stick.

If you can't get a one man biv, the 2 man biv is only 1.1kg. A bit more if you take something for a floor.

They are pretty good in a storm, but I have just had to replace the hoop on mine. It bent in a hell of a wind on the Ruahine tops and like a fool I tried to straighten it. It snapped.

You can see it in the background. The calm before the storm.

Checked an old 2001 Huntec catalogue - the 1-man bivvy tent was $250.00, weight 915 grams, floor area 4.75 sq m.
2-man bivvy tent $275.00, weight 1120 grams, floor area 3.25 sq m.

Think the 2-man version is better value and bit more versatile?

Good luck.

So the 1 man Bivvy tent has a bigger floor area than the 2 man tent Huh.

He wants it for the tops. Sandflies can't fly above 3000ft. Cheesy

I had a look at this one yesterday at North Face. They had it for $450 Aus.
