The Russians have developed a new 22 round that travels at 1950fps.

And this is the 22 rifle they built to use it!!!  Probably quite good out the truck window...  Roll Eyes

Note the interesting swing back bolt action - hope we see more of this:

The company (IZHMASH) that makes this SV-99 is the largest of arms manufacturers in Russia. They make the original genuine AK-47.
But they are being sued by a creditor and they may end up in bankruptcy.

The SV-99 has been around for some time now, however as a 'sniper' weapon, best of luck getting one.  Last time I looked, they were unavailable for general order.  The action is to my understanding one that is used in biatholons, NZ Guns had one of the front cover quite recently, and reported good things about it.

Unfortunately the SV-99 is relegated to the dungens of gun-porn, never to be held by us mere mortals  Cry.

Goes to show just how 'shot up' the economy is when you can't even sell AK's.  Everyone should have at least one.
