Awesome thanks team.

Also getting my cross man air pistol serviced to enable some spot lighting off the deck

In the last few weeks my line of cage traps baited with half a dead stoat have been going gang busters catching more stoats. Ducks are nesting and the wee buggers have suddenly turned up everywhere Angry

We were over in the scrub last week, one adult stoat, caught with chicken bones for bait, and three hedgepigs.

Saw my first stoat in Auckland today running across the road on scenic drive 2 mins from my house, too quick for me to take evasive action!
My tree set victors have been pretty slow on rats this spring, despite kilos of bait being eaten at the base of the same trees.

Any tips on tuning my victor traps to stoat mode? I have a couple of boxes that I have never caught a rat in hence the treee sets.

Was thinking of trying the ping pong ball set up.

Stoats are big on smell and as such i just struggle with ping pong balls which are visual only i would guess. I would be using eggs or a meat based lure like Erayz.

went and checked my traps the other day...first time for months...literally.... 4 staots 1 weasel 1 hedgehog and two rats..... pingpong balls and eggs do work. Im not out everyweek like I was as the area I have traps in has been rabbit fenced...stuff all rabbits for food so the ferrits have not come back...what Im getting now has lizards or nesting birds to choose from. agreed on how to set them, any cover is better than no cover.
