Not quite; Macpac has been bought by Mouton Noir, the company that also owns the Fairydown brand. Sounds like a technicality, but it's quite different really.

I know what your saying there but I think that mouton noir would have had to buy macpac as if fairydown had done so im thinking it would have violated a law or 2 or 3......

not disappeared, just a bit busy with a major business transaction to watch all things and put out all fires...
not sure who anyone else is in here, but my name doesn't make my identity a big secret...
I'm not sure what the agenda is of anyone on the internet is regarding this change of ownership- some seem intent on mis-information,I suppose there may may a case of some deperate retailers needing to find an angle, and that may be one of misinformation and a fear campaign...disappointing but they obviously feel they need to do something other than focus on how to restructure their own business in light of a supply change-I intended to speak to a few groups who are Macpac loyal customers and lay their fears to rest that the brand and all that was associated with it was lost, because it isn't. There will be distribution changes, and they allow us the bring better pricing to all- have you guys noticed how suddenly retailer can reduce prices by 25%-50% on Macpac?? well, we can bring you value like this everysingle day, without changing the product. That is the benefit to consumers who want a quality product.
The rest, well....keep an eye on the newspapers and don't go shopping for outdoor gear this week...the new distribution model will be trading very very soon Wink

if you read` back you'll see I offered a reason. I was in Wellington on wednesday, the size of the site has many challenges. and I thought my log in was quite upfront...

I'll revert to being a quiet observer now...mindful of pushing a barrow in a forum

and for deals, well, in a few days time , as I said, check out the local papers and don't make any purchasing decisions on outdoor gear in the next week...
