I am looking at getting a press/reloading setup.
Anyone use the RCBS partner press?
Its reasonably cheap but RCBS gear has always been good.

Or if anyone knows of any second hand gear for sale I may also be interested.

Cheers,

WK

I used to use  what i think is an older version of the Partner Press which you can see in the pic below...

I mounted it like that as i was worried about the strength of my bench along the edge.

The only draw back on that press is if you are loading long magnum cartridges, it gets a little tight for space...

Lee also do a cast iron press (The Classic?)  these days that while cheaper than the RCBS Rock Chucker, is probably a little better...for a starter it has three mounting holes rather than the usual two plus its designed so you can direct the spent primers into a bucket underneath which quite handy..

Both the Lee & the RC have a better leverage set up than the Partner making resizing a bit easier.

Regards,

Pete

Used a RCBS partner press for a number of years with no problems at all...While it is a little smaller than some of the other presses available it was still ok to load larger shells as well. Mate used to use it to resize and load 300weatherby rounds. If you are just loading standard size cartridges I think you will find it quite adequate . If you are shooting magnum cartridges you may want a larger press with more leverage  and a larger loading port.....
