Yeah, I agree with you. I purchased the 710 in .270 cal., and although I have had tremendous success at the range right out of the box, the bolt action does seem to have stiffened up a little bit. Maybe I'm a little different because I'm a left handed shooter, shooting a right hander lefty, but the bolts action does seem a bit sloppy. Otherwise, the rifle is quite excellent: really accurate and reasonably comfortable to shoot , even after firing over 150 rounds when first opened out of the box. It took me a little over 5 shots to zero in @ 100yrds., and I havent experienced any of the problems I've heard about plastic pieces comming apart, but I figured the action of the bolt wouldve smoothed out after repeated use. I havent used the gun in a little while now ( about 4-6 months), but when cleaning, and then dry firing, the bolt has seemed to stiffened up a bit more than i last remember.
I cant wait to go out again to the local range hear and fire off some more rounds. I'm hoping that the action will smooth out a bit more, without gaing any more slop in the action. I've heard of people using thick weight oils, coupled with teflon to smooth things out. Again the rifle is a dream, and I have the utmost confidence when I begin my hunt this year.
