March-April is the rorar in New Zealand, there are alot of hunting places that can be driven to by car & deer can be found as little as 30 minutes walk from the vehicle, no guides necesary. As well as the Kawekas (red & sika) the Ruahines (mainly red deer) can provide some easy hunting, nice bush and some good results.
