Hi all you fellow-hunters! I'm planning to go to NZ next year with a friend. Since we hunt in Germany as well and we have heard a lot about the faszinating nature and kinds of deer in NZ we want to try to hunt a little bit. Since we are used to hunt for ourselves and are quite skilled we thought that it might be not necesarry to hire a guide. It's more fun to hunt with friends than with people you have to pay for! And the size of the trophies is not all - we prefer a good hunting time more. Can anybody give me some information how to start? Where do I get a map of government-land, where you can hunt for free? Is it usefull to use a 4wheeler or plan a weeks trip with tent? If there's anybody who had the same problems, please just mail back, so that we won't make the same mistakes...
