I am an ex-pig hunter from the north island, now living in Nelson for 3 years. I couldn't bring my dogs with me, so gave up pig hunting for dear hunting. In the 3 years I have been here, I have never seen a deer. I beleave that someone is up there in those hils with a big stick carved to resemble the foot of a deer, and so creating lots of sign. I think I should go back to pig hunting, as I see pigs, but have never shot them. If there is anyone in Nelson who would be interested in helping me dispel the myth I would be most appreciative.
