Carl, i have taken plenty of people hunting thar, i always tell them to bring the bulky bino's, around the the 8x40 plus. i use 10x50.
the more the magnification the better as it pulls the mountains alot closer and you can see more detail. the diametre on the end on the bino's need to be big as possible, this is to pull in as much light when it is getting darker it also gives you a bigger field of view. the bulky bino's are easier to hold steady too. i have seen people use smaller compact styles, they give up looking pretty soon. get a bigger set of bino's. remember when hunting Thar- let your eye's do the walking so your legs can do the stalking.
