I've used a Magellan 2000xl gps for 3 yrs now and I wouldn't go bush without it as it saves so much time when you in the bottom of a gulley and want to head out to a known point. I've hunted the scrubland of the Kawekas on the Mohaka and also the Tongariro and found it to be excelent. After purchasing mine and seeing it work 2 friends went out and bought one each!Great in new ground where you don't know your way around. You can also get software that alows you to put your marks on a map of the area in which you want to hunt in the future. This map can be printed off your computer to the scale you want then you can laminate it to water proof it and have as many copies as you want.Contact me if you want.
