well we all know a 270 can take Thar out to 300m maybe not as well as a 300 win mag I will admit that! But I dont need extra grunt to make up for a possible lack of skill. As for inexperience I'm not the one trying to hunt Thar out of Arthurs Pass. Try south of the Rakaia head waters and north of the Dobson on the East Coast where I live, you might have a bit more luck. Cheers.
