I have hunted for a few years now and always have a permitt when I go onto DOC land even if I am just Bowhunting a few Goats for meat(I don't wanna take the chance) I have seen a few DOC staff out in the Bush but have never ever been asked if I had a permitt. I forget to post in my kill returns because I don't shoot very many Deer (only the odd one for meat) and having a kill return with 45 deer seen and 3 shot would make some DOC people turn all sorts of colours. Also I am a lazy bugger and just plain forget to send it anyhow.
What they don't know won't hurt them.
I once listened to some Head DoC Guy say that 1080 drops were not targeting deer at all and the risks of them being poisoned was very low. 2 weeks later I met another DoC guy at a Road end who spent 10 mins Bragging about how many Deer his latest 1080 drop just had killed.
They moan on about the damage Deer etc... do to the Forest and they then go and dump tons of Poisonous Chemicals all over it, how environmental is that?
I say F@CK them all.
Until we get a Game Management Policy put in place things will not change.
